Pitching with a Purpose & Illinois Bone and Joint

All Pitching with a Purpose Programs are directed by Trey Frahler, Director of Operations at IBA.  Trey is a former Pitching Coach at Wheaton College, New Trier High School, and the Wilmette Waves as well as a Division I pitcher at Bucknell.  John Nasshan, current Pitching Coach at New Trier High School, the Wilmette Waves, and former Division I Pitcher at Bradley University pitcher will lead the day to day programming. Trainers from Illinois Bone and Joint’s Health Performance Institute will split the day with the coaches by working a variety of arm health related topics throughout each session.

Pitching with a Purpose (Intro):

Trey Frahler, former Wheaton College Pitching Coach, will be overseeing this program which is geared towards 1st to 3rd grade players who are interested in becoming pitchers. John Nasshan, current New Trier High School pitching coach will be the lead instructor for the program. Our goal is to get pitchers comfortable on the mound. HPI trainers will start to lay the foundation by educating the players on a basic warm-up and cool down protocol that can be used before and after a game or practice.  The protocol will consist of basic arm care needs and mobilities (if needed).

Pitching with a Purpose (Intermediate):

Building on the Intro level, Trey Frahler, former Wheaton College Pitching Coach, will be overseeing this program which is geared towards 4th to 6th grade players who are interested in honing in on their skills as a pitchers.John Nasshan, current New Trier High School pitching coach will be the lead instructor for the program.  We will focus on teaching more advanced mechanics. HPI trainers will educate the players by providing a proper warm-up and cool-down protocol that can be used before and after a game or practice.  The protocol will be slightly more in depth, and tailored to each of the players needs creating a more individualized approach.  We will also begin the conversation on basic strength training and proper movement.

Pitching with a Purpose (Advanced):

Trey Frahler, former Wheaton College Pitching Coach, will be overseeing this program which will prepare pitchers for the next level by focusing on advanced pitching topics. John Nasshan, current New Trier High School pitching coach will be the lead instructor for the program. The Advanced Level is intended for motivated and dedicated pitchers from 7th and 8th grades. HPI trainers will educate the players by providing a proper warm-up and cool-down protocol that can be used before and after a game or practice.  Basic weight training and proper movement will be implemented with each player.  Individualized arm care programs and mobilities will provided.  Our hope is that players will leave with the tools and the knowledge to start becoming independent with their baseball preparation.

Pitching with a Purpose (High School):

Trey Frahler, former Wheaton College Pitching Coach, will be overseeing this program which will prepare pitchers for the next level (high school or college baseball) by focusing on advanced pitching topics. John Nasshan, current New Trier High School pitching coach will be the lead instructor for the program. High School Pitching is intended for motivated and dedicated pitchers in high school. HPI trainers will educate the players by providing a proper warm-up and cool-down protocol that can be used before and after a game or practice.  Weight training emphasizing proper movement will be implemented.  Players will be taught and given basic weight training programs that they can do at home.  Individualized arm care programs and mobilities will be provided. Players should leave with a greater understanding of how to properly prepare to practice and play and be able to implement these routines going forward into their baseball careers.

Dates: Saturdays November 4 – December 16 (no class 11/25)

Intro Level: 11-12 PM

Intermediate Level: 12-1 PM

Advanced Level: 1-2 PM

High School Level: 2-3 PM
