Meet Mike Domenick
I played my high school ball at New Trier High School and graduated in 2006. My senior year our team made it to the super sectionals. I was one of the captains, a team MVP, and 1st Team All-State. I started my college career at Illinois State University and was a redshirt freshmen. I transferred to North Park University to continue my collegiate career and help build a program to consistently compete in the CCIW. I batted 3rd and played 1st base my entire time there and never regretted a moment.
Tell us about your most memorable baseball experience.
My most memorable baseball experience was winning the CCIW conference in 2011. We went 31-9 that season and had a great group of guys that all strived to make the program better. It was a journey I’ll never forget. Please feel free to ask me about it at The Yard!
Please share a life lesson learned from baseball.
One of the lessons I learned from baseball is to not fear mistakes. Mistakes are going to happen, but it is our response to them that will define us. Face your fears head on and nothing but good will come of it.
Have you got a baseball tip for us?
Leave everything on the field and take each rep like it’s your last. You never know when your going to hang-up the cleats. Enjoy each moment and make the most of it so that you can leave the game of baseball with no regrets.
Thanks, Mike! It’s nice to get to know you. See you at The Yard!
